Earrings | Stainless Steel Components | 1.6 mm Delica beads | Approximately 3.25 inches and .75 inch at its widest | Ear hook approximately .5 inch
My grandmother/Kokum taught me to bead on a loom a very long time ago. She beaded medallions for the gauntlets and mukluks she made as did my mother. My Kokum is Ojibwe and a member of Wabauskang First Nation in North-Western Ontario. I identify as as someone with mixed heritage including Ojibwe, Irish and Scottish.
As a way to re-claim this craft, I am teaching myself using both online tutorials as well as in-class zoom workshops.
