Earrings | Stainless Steel Components | 2 mm seed beads | Approximately 2.25 inches long and .5 inch at its widest | Steel ear hook (approximately .5 inch)
My grandmother/Kokum taught me to bead, on a homemade loom my grandpa made, a very long time ago. She beaded medallions for the gauntlets and mukluks she made as did my mother. My Kokum is Ojibwe and a member of Wabauskang First Nation in North-Western Ontario. I identify as as someone with mixed heritage including Ojibwe, Irish and Scottish.
As a way to re-claim this craft, I am teaching myself using both online tutorials as well as in-class zoom workshops.
